Joba Chamberlain is on the cover of the latest ESPN the Magazine as the next big thing, and Adrian Peterson is making his case for the same title. But a manbeast by the name of Kevin Ferguson, alias Kimbo Slice, has a pretty good argument as to why he should be considered. The animal was discovered fighting street brawls and was turned into a Mixed Martial Arts stud, Kimbo Slice has made his mark on YouTube and the world of MMA. 6'2" 220lbs Kimbo has a slew of YouTube videos where he engages in non-sanctioned fights and literally busts dudes eyes and fights guys pushing 400 pounds one after the other….literally. He dominated his competition on the streets, mainly leaving them a bloody mess, the beast had to be caged. Kimbo was 7-1 in the streets with his only loss to Sean Gannon, a white Irish cop from Boston so we all can’t be too upset about that.
As he entered the MMA world, he first fought former WBO champion boxer Ray Mercer who he disposed of in 1 minute and 12 seconds. Winning by Guillotine Choke after a few knees and a take down; it was impressive to say the least to see a raw street brawling beast go right into MMA and use the training he learned so quickly to get a submission victory. His next bout was against Bo Cantrell in which he won in 19 seconds with blows to the head and showed how dominant this guy can be. 19 seconds…I take pisses that last longer than 19 seconds.
Some MMA fighters don’t think Kimbo can hold up against any real competition, which may be true at this stage in his career since he is used to fighting neighborhood bullies. Kinda sounds familiar…a raw talent that does a less than reputable job that pertains to the fact that he is a fucking imposing beast. Is Kimbo the real-life version of Rocky Balboa? We don’t know, but Rocky was a raw amateur talent that was a debt collector on the side for a bookie; Kimbo Slice on the other hand was a raw amateur talent that was a bodyguard for low-budget internet orgies…literally.
I think with a few more fights under his belt Kimbo Slice may be unstoppable in the ring.. I can see Kimbo holding a title in MMA and not letting go. One video i enjoy from the street is when he fights a bigger, blacker guy named Big D and towards the middle of the bout Kimbo lets Big D take free punches at his freakin’ face. Big D is not small and is not out of shape, Kimbo accepts the punches to the face with "thats all you got?...it's over." How many of you would be taunting a 6’1”, 278 pound man take free swings at you? None of you…that’s why Kimbo Slice is the next big thing. The ever-growing world of MMA fighters have a problem on their hands, his name Kimbo Slice.
